More bracing, and the basement slab is completely gone. Concrete work will start this week.

Demolition and excavation, day 1

Stairs, porch rail, and column are gone. Day one of excavation.

The first item they found was an abandoned oil tank.

Here is a view from the backyard. The addition will come straight off the right gable, with enclosed stairs located near the existing ones.
